Pursuant to NC G.S. 143-129, sealed Bids for the construction of the Ostwalt Amity Area Water System Expansion, Contract I - Water Lines, Contract II - Well Buildings, and Contract III - Elevated Storage Tank, will be received by Iredell Water Corporation, at 571 Jennings Road, Statesville, NC 28625 until 2:00 PM local time on September 3, 2020, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Bids may be submitted by courier. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. The mailing address is P.O. Box 711, Statesville, NC 28687.

The new Ostwalt Amity area water system extends public water lines 73,840 LF of 4, 8, and 12-inch lines (14.0 miles) in Southern Iredell County currently unserved by public water.

  • Contract I includes water lines along: Bethesda Road, Ostwalt Amity Road, Overcash Road from Ostwalt Amity Road, Weathers Creek Road, Brawley Road, and Shinnville Road. The new Ostwalt Amity area water system extends public water lines in Southern Iredell County currently unserved by public water. 
  • Contract II consists of the construction of two 13' x 17' well buildings, all electrical work, and 4" water line connections to the new system. The new Ostwalt Amity area water system extends public water lines in Southern Iredell County currently unserved by public water.
  • Contract III includes the construction of one 300,000-gallon new elevated water storage tank, or one used 250,000 to 400,000-gallon elevated tank and all site work and appurtenances as shown on the project drawings.

Bids must be prepared in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Contractors may bid on any or all of the three contracts. A separate bid package is required for each contract bid with the project name & contract number clearly marked. No bid packages shall be combined in a single envelope.

A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM local time on August 13, 2020 at 571 Jennings Road, Statesville, NC 28625.  Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged.

All bids must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total amount bid made payable to Iredell Water Corporation.  No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 after bid opening except as provided in Instructions to Bidders.  Bidders must be licensed contractors in the State of North Carolina in which the work is to be completed. 

Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All listed iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term “iron and steel products” means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and construction materials. The deminimis and minor components waiver {add project specific waivers as applicable} apply to this contract.”
